Even Though we love a good cup of tea, we are not always in the mood for hot drinks. Drinking soft drinks from the supermarket does not cleanse your thirst and water gets boring sometimes. So what’s left?

Ice Tea of course! Not the supermarket kind of ice tea that consist of  80% sugar. But a real one! Today we are going to share an ice tea recipe that is not only delicious but also good for your health. Guess what! this recipe only has 6 steps!

The following ingredients are meant for two glasses, so around 500 ml.



- 12 mid-sized Strawberries (crown removed)

- 2 teaspoons of honey

- approximately 8 cm. of lemon peel

- 2 teaspoons of loose leaf green tea (we used Sencha tea)

- 2 sprigs of Rosemary

- 500 ml. water (around 80 degrees)

- lots of ice cubes




- teapot or French press

- pan

- sieve

- carafe



Step 1: Boil the 500 ml water and let it cool down till 85 degree Celsius. You can speed up the cooling process by pouring the boiling water in a big water/ tea carafe.


Step 2: When the water reached 85 degree Celsius, use 2 teaspoons of loose leaf green tea and set it for 3 to 4 minutes in a teapot or French press.


Step 3: After the tea has been set for 3 to 4 minutes, pour the green tea back in the carafe and let it cool down with the lemon peel in it.


Step 4: Grab a pan and put all the strawberries in with 4 tablespoons of water,  2 teaspoons of honey and 2 sprigs of Rosemary


Step 5: Cook it for 10 minutes till the strawberries are soft and  pour everything through a sieve in the carafe with the cooled down green tea. Push the strawberries a bit with a spoon so you can get all the moisture out of it. Don’t throw  the mashed strawberries away! Because you can use it as jam for your bread or crackers!


Step 6: Told you we can make it in 6 steps! Now for the grand finale. Stir the ice tea in the carafe and fill up your glass. Put some ice cubes in it et voila!
