RECIPE: FIG AND SAGE ICE TEA

Summer is not over yet! We found a healthy and delicious ice tea recipe that we would like to share with you. The Fig and Sage Ice tea has a fresh and sweet taste with a Mediterranean undertone. The perfect drink First to impress your friends at a barbeque or when just want to enjoy a healthy and guilt free drink! Sage is an amazing herb. It's well-known health benefits are for example: improving memory, lowering blood glucose and cholesterol, as the dried figs act as a natural sweetener.

 

 

The Fig and Sage Ice Tea is easy to make and all the ingredients can be found in your local supermarket.

 

Equipment needed:
– French Coffee press
– A Pestle
– Water boiler
– Tea Pot

 

Ingredients needed:
– 2 tablespoon of white tea (we used silver needle tea)
– 400 ml of boiled water (70 to 80 degrees)
– 1/3 teaspoon of sage
– 2 dried figs
– 100 ml of boiled water (straight out of the water boiler)
– Ice cubes

 

How to prepare?

 

Step 1: Set 2 tbsp. of white tea with 400 ml of 80 degrees water in a teapot and Formocha let it cool down.

 

Step 2: Cut 2 dried figs both in 4 quarters and put it in a French coffee press.

 

Step 4: Add 1/3 of tsp. Sage.

 

Step 5: Mash it together gently with a pestle or spoon.

 

Step 6: Add 100 ml. of boiling water to it.

 

Step 7: When it is cooled down, add the tea into the French coffee press and serve it with ice cubes.
